These terms and conditions were last updated on 21 May 2026.
Use of our website, catalogues, promotional material, and the sale and purchase of goods or services from Dear Nature, whether through our website, by phone, email, message, in person, or any other method of contact, are governed by the terms and conditions set out below.
By placing an order, booking an experience, or making an enquiry that leads to a purchase or booking, you agree to these terms and conditions.
In these terms, “we”, “our” and “us” means Dear Nature, operated as a sole-trader business by Deepika Sarathy.
“You” and “your” means the person accessing our website, placing an order, booking an experience, or contacting us to make an enquiry.
Dear Nature is a small independent terrarium and nature-inspired décor business based in Woking, United Kingdom.
All prices are shown in GBP, Pounds Sterling.
Prices shown on our website, catalogues, social media, messages, or other promotional material are subject to change without notice. Price and availability information may change depending on plant availability, glassware availability, materials, customisation requirements, delivery or travel distance, and the nature of the order or experience.
For personalised terrariums, private workshops, school sessions, club sessions, parties, events, or mobile experiences, the final price may depend on the group size, location, number of terrariums, materials selected, design preferences, and any additional requirements.
We will aim to confirm the final price before your order or booking is accepted.
We make every effort to describe and display our terrariums, products, and experiences as accurately as possible.
However, terrariums are handmade using natural materials, and each piece may differ slightly from photographs or previous examples. Plant type, size, colour, shape, moss, stones, decorative details, and glassware may vary depending on availability.
Where we need to make a substitution, we will aim to use suitable alternatives of similar style, quality, or value.
For personalised or custom-made terrariums, we will do our best to reflect your preferences, but exact replication of photographs or examples cannot always be guaranteed due to the natural and seasonal nature of the materials used.
All products, plants, glassware, materials, workshops, and experiences are subject to availability.
Availability shown on our website or discussed during an enquiry is not a guarantee until your order or booking has been confirmed.
If an item, plant, material, or glass vessel becomes unavailable after you place an order, we may offer a suitable alternative, suggest a revised design, arrange a different date, or provide a refund where appropriate.
Dear Nature is currently operated as a sole-trader business.
Unless stated otherwise, prices shown are not VAT-inclusive and no VAT will be charged unless Dear Nature becomes VAT registered in the future.
If Dear Nature becomes VAT registered, VAT treatment may change and this will be reflected on invoices or receipts where applicable.
We may accept payment by credit/debit card or other agreed payment methods.
Orders, bookings, workshops, or private experiences may require payment in full or a deposit before they are confirmed.
For custom orders, workshops, private sessions, school sessions, club sessions, parties, or events, we will confirm the payment terms before accepting the booking.
Unless otherwise agreed, products may be collected from:
Dear Nature
3 Oakwood Gardens, Knaphill, Woking, GU21 2RX, United Kingdom
Delivery or local drop-off may be available by prior agreement.
For mobile terrarium-making experiences, workshops, school sessions, club sessions, private parties, or events, Dear Nature may travel to your location. Additional travel charges may apply depending on distance, location, parking, setup requirements, and the nature of the booking.
Any delivery, collection, or travel arrangements will be agreed before the order or booking is confirmed.
For terrarium-making experiences held at your home, school, club, workplace, party venue, or event space, we will bring the agreed terrarium kits, plants, materials, tools, and equipment required for the session.
You will usually need to provide a suitable indoor space, table space, and access to water.
As the activity uses soil, moss, pebbles, plants, and other natural materials, the table or work area may become a little earthy during the session. Please ensure the surface provided is suitable for this type of hands-on activity.
Outdoor sessions may be possible only when the weather is suitable. We recommend planning for an indoor setup and moving outdoors only if weather permits.
If you need to change or cancel a workshop, event, or experience booking, please contact us as soon as possible.
We will do our best to accommodate reasonable changes, but this may depend on availability, materials already purchased, preparation already completed, and the notice given.
For private experiences, school sessions, club sessions, parties, or events, deposits may be non-refundable where materials have already been purchased or preparation has already begun.
Any specific cancellation or rescheduling terms will be confirmed at the time of booking.
For online or distance sales, UK consumer rules may give customers cancellation rights in certain situations, including a 14-day cancellation period for many distance purchases. There are exceptions, including some personalised or custom-made goods. (GOV.UK)
If you are unhappy with your purchase, please contact us as soon as possible so we can try to resolve the issue.
For non-personalised products, replacement or return requests should be made within 28 days of purchase by emailing:
Please include your order number, purchase details, photographs where relevant, and a description of the issue.
Because terrariums are living arrangements made with natural plants and materials, we cannot guarantee plant health where care instructions have not been followed, where the terrarium has been overwatered, underwatered, placed in unsuitable light, exposed to extreme temperatures, damaged, or neglected after collection or delivery.
Personalised, custom-made, or bespoke terrariums may not be eligible for return unless faulty or not as agreed.
Terrariums are living products and require appropriate care.
We may provide general care guidance, but the ongoing health of the plants depends on light, temperature, watering, humidity, placement, and general care after the terrarium leaves Dear Nature.
We are not responsible for damage, plant decline, or deterioration caused by incorrect care, accidental damage, unsuitable placement, extreme heat or cold, overwatering, underwatering, or failure to follow care guidance.
Goods remain the property of Dear Nature until full payment has been received.
Once full payment has been made and the product has been collected, delivered, or handed over, responsibility for the product passes to you.
